About...

I'm Dawn... a full-time secondary teacher by day and creative director / clay artist of Allsorts Clay at evenings, weekends and school holidays! 

Special occasions usually mean two things... lots of cake and a reason to celebrate!

The cake and topper decoration... as beautiful as they may be - is usually photographed and admired for a short time before being devoured by hungry guests or thrown into an empty tupperware box for cosumption later!

Allsorts Clay was created from a love of creating bespoke cake toppers and figurines and capturing a special moment forever in polymer clay.

I have always been a creative person. I went to art school but never truly knew what I wanted to do in life... until I was proposed to! 

Whilst planning my own wedding, I attended many wedding fayres and noticed that there was a lack of personalised gifts and mementos for the modern and alternative couple. We wanted a unique cake topper which we could keep for years to come and the Allsorts Clay concept was born!

I was inspired to create a personalised cake topper with a material I wasn't comfortable with. After spending many rainy Sunday afternoons indoors experimenting, I created my first clay character and decided to turn a passion into a business!
